This is me on a bad day people.

I’ve been busy of late, that’s my explaination to the lateness of this blog because we all know we had the cup in the bag last week. Nice, nice feeling I have to add.

A Life Quite Ordinary

May 12, 2009

Why is it everytime I see a photograph of this man he makes me smile? Although I’m not attracted to him, I will admit though, he’s pretty easy on the eyes, and has a voice I could listen to all day long to. However it’s quite simple. He just happens to be the worlds most powerful man doing nothing out the ordinary.

Simply Sick

I rarely ever read the newspaper, however after flicking through a few pages in todays Daily Mirror, this is what I find.

A kangaroo lays dying in a field after being shot through the head with an arrow.

This joey called Beau was discovered just in time and is now recovering in a wildlife centre following an operation.

Wildlife groups outraged by the spate of attacks in Australia have offered a £5,000 reward to anyone who helps catch the bow and arrow attackers.

Fiona Corke, of Wildlife Victoria, said: “It must be a very cold-hearted person to do that.” Police are investigating..

My thoughts. I hope they find the bastard or bastards and put an arrow through their skull.

Ouch!

and this

I  probably wouldn’t say this is a flaw when it comes to the male species, because let’s be honest ladies, they make us laugh with their he-man/superman antics. Right?!

These past few weeks I’ve been exploring the social networking scene. If I had gotten paid for all my research I would have had quite a pay packet. My findings were that Twitter was one of the top outcomes. Even though it can be quite daunting at first, once you find the right people to follow you’re on your way. For example, if you enjoy photography, then follow someone in that field, that way you’ll find they’ll be dropping many links for you to browse. You also find yourself doing the same and that’s how people may follow you.

Another find was Vox. This is a blogging social network. So while at times you might feel alone on your own blogging site, this gives you the opportunity to add friends and become apart of a group/groups, where someone may take an interest in your writings/findings. Tumblr is very similar.

FriendFeed, is a realtime site that posts updates from your social networking sites, and once again you can follow people and join groups on there.

Ning is a platform for people to create there own websites for just about anything. It has many that your can join regarding your own interests, and a nice huge directory to browse.

43 Things. I have to say this is one of my personal favourites. My nickname for it is ‘The Bucketlist’.  As a user, you create a list of goals you’d like to achieve, giving your reasons why, and once you have been able to put a tick next to them, you can write about the exprience.

Facebook or Myspace. For many years I was always on Myspace, there was nothing better. A place to make friends, blog, message, find music, then a big BUT came along once I found Facebook. Like Twitter it took me a while to understand. With all these different applications and the set up being different to Myspace, I was lost for a while. Once I realised how to use the service, it was easier then Myspace. Easier how? Most of the people on my friends list there I have never met. The friends on Facebook are either family, old school friends, work colleagues and friends that I have actually met, with only a few falling into the same catergory as I pointed out in Myspace. Out of the 200+ people I have on Myspace, I know very few. Facebook gets hands up when it comes to searching for people, it’s easier, simple as that. Facebook applications are way better and it feels a hell of alot lighter on the  old computer. It has it’s own IM service, however at times it can become annoying, especially when it states your friend has went offline, when they haven’t. Now Myspace does have some good features, one of them being the interface, way better then that of Facebook. It’s also a great site for amatuer musicians, writers, photographers etc, for them to get their work shown for free, that which I’m all for. There’s also a section to blog, a place to add your own work, such as music and photographs.

But, but, but, I personally believe the combination of Twitter, Facebook and your own personal blog has out done Myspace.

Maybe I’m wrong, that’s just my opinon.

If by now you feel you’re following too many sites, then they’re three options that may ease the work load. One being  delicious, which is a social bookmarking web service for storing, sharing, and discovering web bookmarks. ShareThis, share text, pictures and video to any contact via email, IM, text message, Facebook, MySpace, Digg, Twitter and many more services. You can also store your shares for later. Both of these can be stored as add-ons in your browser. The third is Symbaloo. A startpage that lets you easily organize and access favourite websites and web services on one page.

All this information is making me in need of a time out.

Part two will follow shortly after the break.
